Teachers and Students Essay -- Teaching Education Essays
Teachers and Students The education habits of students are rooted in them from the earliest days of their educational careers. The different influences on students, whether it be inside educational institutions, or outside is huge. The teacher of a classroom is the first and most pertinent influence in a student's educational career. Teachers provide students with the basic skills they would need to survive not only in the academic world, but also the world beyond. The relationship between teachers and their students is the key element in creating an educational atmosphere that is both pleasant and effective. The experience of a student at school, especially at a younger age, in most cases sets the main base of the skills of that student. Teachers who provide a solid base most likely did so because they were able to relate to the classroom as a whole, and also to students as individuals. This is very important in the learning process. The teacher is the leader of the classroom. S/he is the one to decide the lesson plan for the students, and the best way of implementing that lesson plan in a given day. The excitement and enthusiasm that a teacher is able to create in the classroom, assists students in learning the subject not only with more positive energy, but also helps them be interested in topics that they would normally not be interested in. Often times there's a debate about the issue of whether teachers treat different students differently, either because of their ethnic background or their gender. David Thomas discussed this issue in his article, "The Mind of Man". Thomas argued that girls' performance in school is better than boys' not because girls are smarter and boys are not, but because they are treated diff... ...bjects and life outside the classroom. Also, teachers should not be blamed for the poor performance of boys (or girls) in their classroom on the basis that they treat them differently. After all, boys are boys, and girls are girls. Girls are conditioned to be calm and boys are conditioned to be active. This is something that the children already have within them when they enter the classroom. It is up to the teacher to be flexible enough to work with both different types of personalities in a given day. A great challenge...but not impossible! Works Cited Rose, Mike. Teens and Sex Education
Teens and Sex Education | | |Home >>Teen Sexuality | |[pic] | | | |[pic][pic][pic][pic][pic][pic] | |Teen sex education, or teen sex ed, is important for helping teens to understand the changes in their bodies and in their | |relationships during the teenage years.Sex education helps teens make healthy choices about relationships and sex. | |Sex education for teens should start well before the teenage years. Starting early, parents should have age-appropriate | |discussions with their children about love, relationships, values, and sex. It is appropriate to give children and teens honest, | |clear answers when they ask questions about their bodies or about relationships. For young children these answers do not need to | |be graphic, but should be straightforward. |If parents make sex education an open, ongoing discussion with their child, by the time the child is a teen he or she will feel | |more comfortable asking his or her parents questions about sex and the changes brought about by sexual development in the teen | |years.Parental opinion is one of the most important factors teens use to make decisions about sex. If parents have not educated | |their teens about sex, or discourage questions from their teens, the teens will get more of their sex education from friends and | |the media, which are not reliable sources. |Teens do learn about sex from television, movies, music, and magazines; those teens who were exposed to sex through any of these | |media when young are more likely to begin having sex at an early age. The need to correct the false impressions teens may get | |from the media about sex is an important reason that teens should get sex education from their parents. | |Sex education conducted through schools or religious groups can also help to correct the misinformed and sometimes deceptive sex | |education teens get from the media and from friends. Some types of sex education presented by schools or religious organizations | |for children an d teens might include: | |Good touch-bad touch talks for elementary students, teaching them that they have the right to be safe from inappropriate physical| |contact, and that they should respect this right in others. | |Basic descriptions of the reproductive system, usually presented in middle school, before puberty, to pre-teens separated by | |gender. |Discussions of human sexuality, sexually transmitted diseases, and types of birth control, including abstinence, usually | |presented to teens in high school sex education courses. | |Value-based, age-appropriate discussions about relationships and sexuality offered by religious groups. | |These sex education classes generally require parental approval before the child or teen can participate, and give parents | |another opportunity to discuss relationships and values with their children or teens.Schools, religious groups, and community | |organizations may also offer advice or written materials to help parents talk to their teens about sex. | |Some parents are afraid that teen sex education encourages their teens to have sex. A recent study in Texas, however, found that | |teens who took a two week sex education class became more interested in waiting until after high school to have sex; before the | |class 84 percent of the teens wanted to wait, and after the class 87 percent were planning on waiting. Also, before the class 60 | |percent of the teens said they wanted to wait until marriage to have sex, and after the class 71 percent were planning on | |abstaining until marriage. | |The likelihood that teens will have sex is also reduced if they watch less than 2 hours of television on school nights, attend | |religious services, and come from a family with both parents. | |Parents, whether married or single, are still the strongest influence on the choices their teens make about sex. By being | |involved in their teens' sex education, parents can help their teens develop healthy attitudes about love and sex. |

Tips for Declaring Variables in Java
A variable is a container that holds values that are used in a Java program. To be able to use a variable it needs to be declared. Declaring variables is normally the first thing that happens in any program. How to Declare a Variable Java is a strongly typed programming language. This means that every variable must have a data type associated with it. For example, a variable could be declared to use one of the eight primitive data types: byte, short, int, long, float, double, char or boolean. A good analogy for a variable is to think of a bucket. We can fill it to a certain level, we can replace whats inside it, and sometimes we can add or take something away from it. When we declare a variable to use a data type its like putting a label on the bucket that says what it can be filled with. Lets say the label for the bucket is Sand. Once the label is attached, we can only ever add or remove sand from the bucket. Anytime we try and put anything else into it, we will get stopped by the bucket police. In Java, you can think of the compiler as the bucket police. It ensures that programmers declare and use variables properly. To declare a variable in Java, all that is needed is the data type followed by the variable name: int numberOfDays; In the above example, a variable called numberOfDays has been declared with a data type of int. Notice how the line ends with a semi-colon. The semi-colon tells the Java compiler that the declaration is complete. Now that it has been declared, numberOfDays can only ever hold values that match the definition of the data type (i.e., for an int data type the value can only be a whole number between -2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647). Declaring variables for other data types is exactly the same: byte nextInStream; short hour; long totalNumberOfStars; float reactionTime; double itemPrice; Initializing Variables Before a variable can be used it must be given an initial value. This is called initializing the variable. If we try to use a variable without first giving it a value: int numberOfDays; //try and add 10 to the value of numberOfDays numberOfDays numberOfDays 10; the compiler will throw an error: variable numberOfDays might not have been initialized To initialize a variable we use an assignment statement. An assignment statement follows the same pattern as an equation in mathematics (e.g., 2 2 4). There is a left side of the equation, a right side and an equals sign (i.e., ) in the middle. To give a variable a value, the left side is the name of the variable and the right side is the value: int numberOfDays; numberOfDays 7; In the above example, numberOfDays has been declared with a data type of int and has been giving an initial value of 7. We can now add ten to the value of numberOfDays because it has been initialized: int numberOfDays; numberOfDays 7; numberOfDays numberOfDays 10; System.out.println(numberOfDays); Typically, the initializing of a variable is done at the same time as its declaration: //declare the variable and give it a value all in one statement int numberOfDays 7; Choosing Variable Names The name given to a variable is known as an identifier. As the term suggests, the way the compiler knows which variables its dealing with is through the variables name. There are certain rules for identifiers: reserved words cannot be used.they cannot start with a digit but digits can be used after the first character (e.g., name1, n2ame are valid).they can start with a letter, an underscore (i.e., _) or a dollar sign (i.e., $).you cannot use other symbols or spaces (e.g., %,^,,#). Always give your variables meaningful identifiers. If a variable holds the price of a book, then call it something like bookPrice. If each variable has a name that makes it clear what its being used for, it will make finding errors in your programs a lot easier. Finally, there are naming conventions in Java that weà would encourage you to use. You may have noticed that all the examples weà have given follow a certain pattern. When more than one word is used in combination in a variable name the words following the first one are given a capital letter (e.g., reactionTime, numberOfDays.) This is known as mixed case and is the preferred choice for variable identifiers.

Relationships Between Service Quality
Question: Discuss about the Relationships Between Service Quality. Answer: Introduction: Quality customer service entails the provision of efficient and effective relationships with ones customers. Therefore it may involve quick and fast service, listening to customers keenly, responding to customers in the quickest way possible, fast and effective complaints and problem solving techniques to name just but a few things that are involved (Hald, 2012). Therefore, it is very important for a business to ensure that their customer service team members or the sales team are treating their customers in the best way possible. Thus, the organization has to come up with ways or policies which will guide the sales and the customer service team members on how to treat their customers. Quality Customer Treatments Making sure that there is an apology conveyed to the customer in case they come up with a complaint about the products. By apologizing the organization will be showing that it did not cause the issue or problem willingly (Jahanshahi et al, 2011). In addition to that, it will show the customer that they sympathize with the customer that the product or service had a problem but that would not happen again. In the case of Innovative Widgets Business, there is a policy of making sure that many apology letters should be written to a complaining customer and especially its loyal customers. Also, the business assures the customers to get a significant discount during their next purchase. The aim of this treatment is to make sure that the customers remain loyal to the products as well as the organization. Equality and Diversity. The organization should ensure that all the employees are treated equality despite the fact that they come from different departments, divisions, earn different amounts of salary, permanent or temporary employees, leaders and the common employees among other differences. This should be the case especially when it comes to making and deciding on the policies, objectives and goals, mission and vision statements and strategies to be put in place for better customer service (Httinger et al, 2012). In the case of Innovative Widgets, the manager invited every team member to participate in coming with the mission and vision statement, policies and procedures to be reviewed by the managing director. By involving the employees when making such decisions it shows that the organization is aware of their welfare and is in need of their ideas. The Organizations should ensure that the objectives and the goas of the whole organization and the specific departments are in line with each other (Nollet et al, 2012). This means that the manner in which the employees from the different departments treat the employees is the same because they will be working towards the same common goal though slightly different. The managers from the different departments must ensure that their customers are treated in the best way possible by the employees (Ellis et al, 2012). For the case of Innovative Widgets the managing director of the organization ensured that all the directors of specific departments used the customer service model to implement internal customer plans. This was simply after he realized the improvements that the new strategies and policies were making much difference in terms of customer service treatment. By doing this the organization will be able to improve itself even when it comes to other grounds. Arrange for trainings and conferences to educate the employees about better customer service and its importance. A business organization should arrange for training sections and meeting where by the employees can be taught on how to treat their customers (Sureshchandar et al, 2001). Also conference days should be included in the business year schedule in different places by different trainers to help the employees improve their skills and education on better customer treatment. For Innovative Widgets Business Organization, the managing director and other managers from other departments ensured that there were training sections that were offered for all the employees (especially sales and customer service team members) and that they attended. These trainings were meant to teach them on how to improve their customer treatment skills and learn how to cope with the new policies and strategies that had been put in place. The following are the steps that Mary can use in future so that she can be able to handle customers in a more professional way and solve any complains that she comes across: Welcome the customer in a more professional way- The sales person will have to great the customer, introduce themselves even before they introduce the items that they are selling. This is done by greeting the customer in a welcoming manner and introducing yourself to them by giving them your name. However, if the business uses the telephones to receive the enquiries and complaints through the telephone calls, then apart from introducing themselves and welcoming the customer, the servers should also introduce the organization in a simple and welcoming tone and voice. This will give the customer the feeling of assurance and confidence in making their complaints (Naidu, 2009). Careful and keen listening- The customer servers should be ready to listen to what the customer wants to say without interrupting them. This will help them air out their complaints with confidence and feel comfortable which increases their chances of being loyal to the organization (Sureshchandar et al, 2002). Also they should get used to pointing out where they may not have understood and asked for clarification in a cautious tone and voice. Additionally, even though the customer is not able to express themselves in an understandable way, the customer servers should try and make sense of what is said to them instead they should the customers as their references points. The customer servers should never indulge in an argument with any customer. Even when the server thinks that the customer is completely wrong about what they are saying, they should try and make it simple for them to understand and therefore it becomes easier to make correction (Schiele et al, 2012). When customer makes their complaints, the server or sales people should not always offer their ideas on how to solve the problem instead they should give the customers a chance to air out their ideas on how they would want the problem solved. However, if the customers idea is not possible, then it is ok for the server to take charge and offer their techniques. The customer servers should be sympathetic and apologetic to the customers whenever they come to make complaints. This will be possible especially by saying sorry verbally or taking action like writing an apology letter. They should avoid being rude and arrogant when serving any customer (Baxter, 2012). For instance if its the product are faulty, then they should ask them whether they can allow them to take the products back for further testing and approval. Also every organization should give the customer servers the power and authority to give the customer some price reduction (according to the value of the products) when need be. For instance, if the products are not delivered in time, they were worth a lot of money and apparently, they would have made a lot of profits for the customer if sold. I would be fair for the organization to make some reduction in the cost of the products for the customer simply to help the recover their loss. Every organization should make sure that their policies concerning product replacement do not involve very long and complicated steps instead it should be an easy, short and simple process for better (Boshoff et al, 2004). This can be possible if the business appoints a replacement team members who will be in charge of making product replacement only. However, the organization should ensure that the product replacement team is in a position and ready to make the replacement for any product that may have complaints from the customers. By doing this they will be able to avoid the replacement of products by each and every employee who wishes to do so. Therefore, this will be able to encourage accountability and professionalism in the organization which leads to better customer service. The managers should also involve themselves in making the process easy by talking to the customers. A customer who needs a replacement for any products or has any complaints which needs the managers attention should be accorded the attention they need. For instance, the customer who deals with the states largest supplier of mining equipment and buys the widgets from Innovative Widgets organization. He seems to have a serious complaint which certainly requires the managers attention. The conversation may go like: Customer: Hello, am fine but I have a serious complaint with your business which I have been presenting for a while now. It has become a bother to me and my customer. Manager: I know about the complaint and am so sorry that it has happened to you. Customer: If you know about it, then you should also know that am considering seeking legal advice and also looking for a new supplier. Manager: You dont have to do that because I am assuring you that the problem will be solved in the next three days. I will personally take care of your situation, I promise. Customer: A promise, thats better. So am giving you three days warning for you to deliver. Conclusion In conclusion, I can say that effective and efficient customer treatment is required in every organization in order for it to increase its success chances. Therefore, it is important that every organization to ensure that its customers are treated in the best way possible by the employees. Also it is important to ensure that the employees are well equipped with the techniques and skills of dealing with customers and giving them best treatment they can give. By doing this, the business will have higher chances of maintaining their customers as well as having the best qualified and comfortable employees they can ever have. References Baxter, R. (2012). Return To Bitter Creek Essays - Lacey, , Term Papers
Return To Bitter Creek Return to Bitter Creek takes place in Bitter Creek, North Carolina, during current times. There are many acres of beautiful land. There are a lot of trees and plants. The weather is seasonal, although mild during the winter. Most of the action occurs at a farm, and in a house. Although the story involves family conflicts, and could take place anywhere, the setting was relevant to this plot because a lot of what happened involved nature, horses, and rural jobs. Lacey Bittner is the main character. She is a teen-aged girl who lived with her mother, Campbell, and her mother's boyfriend, David. Lacey is upfront, honest, hard working, efficient, and kind. When someone is rude she tells them how she feels. For example, she tells her mother when she thinks her mother is being inconsiderate. Whenever she has a job to do, like making a cabin in the trees, or clearing the pasture for the horse, she gets to it right away, and continues until it's done, even late at night. She tries to fit all her activities in, including school, sports, and taking care of her horse; she is responsible. Even though her mother doesn't get along with the rest of the family, Lacey is still pleasant to them. The main conflict is man vs. man. This is a story about a family who just can't get along with each other. There are personality conflicts between mothers and daughters, and cousins and cousins. There is squabbling over such things as who can spend time with whom, and who will drive to school. Campbell, Lacey's mother, lived in Bitter Creek her whole life, but she didn't get along with her family, especially her mother. She moved away to Clio, Colorado with Lacey, being single. She met a man name David. They were very close and lived together, but weren't married. They moved back to Bitter Creek, North Carolina because David found a blacksmith job there. When they arrived in Bitter Creek, they bought a little house. Lacey went to school with her cousin Tam. Campbell didn't like the idea of Grandmother bringing Lacey to school, so she tried to keep her on the bus. Although Lacey's mother is protective, Lacey manages to make new friends and spend time with her grandmother. During the summer Lacey was bored because Campbell and David were always working. Tam and Lacey became good friends, although they have some fights. Lacey learns a lot about wildflowers from a book David gave her and from her grandmother. One day Lacey comes home to find out that David bought seven acres of land. The family decided to clear the pasture, build a fence, and get a horse. The extended family always had Sunday dinners, frequently at David and Campbell's house, but Campbell, Grandmother, and Tam rarely came. Every one else has a great time and loved to ride the horse. Lacey named the horse Polly. Lacey joins the flag corps team when school started again. David and Lacey build a cabin in the trees. Lacey was always busy with many activities aside from the cabin, which she didn't get to work on as much as she would have liked. One day while David was working on the cabin he had an accident and died. This is the climax of the story. After this the family comes together (sort of) and learns to accept each other. Uncle Kenny and Lacey finish the cabin. Campbell mopes around because David died. One night Campbell and Lacey had to move to the barn because there was no money to pay for the house; the barn had been paid for for several months by David. Lacey used to go to folk dances with Campbell and David a lot, but she never had the courage to dance in front of anyone. Finally she did with her family. Lacey's mother became friendly with Grandmother again. Campbell finished one of David's blacksmithing jobs and got $2000. Polly had a baby horse and Lacey named it Trillium (a wildflower). Grandmother made a beautiful quilt and gave it to Campbell and Lacey. Everyone tried to get along with each other. I absolutely loved this book. I would recommend this book to
