Jim vs. Apartheid Differences amongst people has been in existence for a very long time. The time of segregation of black people in America is proof of this differences. During this time black people have been regarded as second class civilans. The laws that were created during this time had the purpose of restricting black people from achieve anything in life and these laws were called Jim Crow Laws. Those laws were mainly used in the southern and border states of the United States. But segregation did not only happen in the US, it has occurred in countries all over the world, places like South Africa. In South Africa, there was a system of legislation, called apartheid. Other differences is that black children in the US can stay in school until they reach the fourth grade, as for the South Afric an black students, they go to school from the age of seven to the age of thirteen. The right to vote in both countries were lost to the black people. The policies had many restriction the only affected black people to the degree their right to vote was taken away. There are no differences regarding on how their voting rights were taken. In both the Jim Crow Laws and the apartheid it was not clearly specified that black people are not allowed vote but it is directed mainly to them, for example, in the apartheid the law states the non-whites are disallowed to vote. But the difference in all this is that the black people in America end up receiving the right to vote unlike the black people of South Africa, although there were loopholes that let a certain amount of black people in America to vote. In the end both the Jim Crow Laws and the apartheid had the same effect on black people in both of their origin countries with the access to education, the right to vote, and the effect on bla ck people. Femininity Vs. Therefore it may involve quick and fast service, listening to customers keenly, responding to customers in the quickest way possible, fast and effective complaints and problem solving techniques to name just but a few things that are involved (Hald, 2012). Therefore, it is very important for a business to ensure that their customer service team members or the sales team are treating their customers in the best way possible. Thus, the organization has to come up with ways or policies which will guide the sales and the customer service team members on how to treat their customers. By apologizing the organization will be showing that it did not cause the issue or problem willingly (Jahanshahi et al, 2011). In addition to that, it will show the customer that they sympathize with the customer that the product or service had a problem but that would not happen again. In the case of Innovative Widgets Business, there is a policy of making sure that many apology letters should be written to a complaining customer and especially its loyal customers. Also, the business assures the customers to get a significant discount during their next purchase. This means that the manner in which the employees from the different departments treat the employees is the same because they will be working towards the same common goal though slightly different. The managers from the different departments must ensure that their customers are treated in the best way possible by the employees (Ellis et al, 2012). For the case of Innovative Widgets the managing director of the organization ensured that all the directors of specific departments used the customer service model to implement internal customer plans. This was simply after he realized the improvements that the new strategies and policies were making much difference in terms of customer service treatment. By doing this the organization will be able to improve itself even when it comes to other grounds. Arrange for trainings and conferences to educate the employees about better customer service and its importance. A business organization should arrange for training sections and meeting where by the employees can be taught on how to treat their customers (Sureshchandar et al, 2001). Also conference days should be included in the business year schedule in different places by different trainers to help the employees improve their skills and education on better customer treatment. For Innovative Widgets Business Organization, the managing director and other managers from other departments ensured that there were training sections that were offered for all the employees (especially sales and customer service team members) and that they attended. These trainings were meant to teach them on how to improve their customer treatment skills and learn how to cope with the new policies and strategies that had been put in place. The following are the steps that Mary can use in future so that she can be able to handle customers in a more professional way and solve any complains that she comes across: Welcome the customer in a more professional way- The sales person will have to great the customer, introduce themselves even before they introduce the items that they are selling. This is done by greeting the customer in a welcoming manner and introducing yourself to them by giving them your name. However, if the business uses the telephones to receive the enquiries and complaints through the telephone calls, then apart from introducing themselves and welcoming the customer, the servers should also introduce the organization in a simple and welcoming tone and voice. This will give the customer the feeling of assurance and confidence in making their complaints (Naidu, 2009). Careful and keen listening- The customer servers should be ready to listen to what the customer wants to say without interrupting them. This will help them air out their complaints with confidence and feel comfortable which increases their chances of being loyal to the organization (Sureshchandar et al, 2002). Also they should get used to pointing out where they may not have understood and asked for clarification in a cautious tone and voice. Additionally, even though the customer is not able to express themselves in an understandable way, the customer servers should try and make sense of what is said to them instead they should the customers as their references points. The customer servers should never indulge in an argument with any customer. Even when the server thinks that the customer is completely wrong about what they are saying, they should try and make it simple for them to understand and therefore it becomes easier to make correction (Schiele et al, 2012). When customer makes their complaints, the server or sales people should not always offer their ideas on how to solve the problem instead they should give the customers a chance to air out their ideas on how they would want the problem solved. However, if the customers idea is not possible, then it is ok for the server to take charge and offer their techniques. The customer servers should be sympathetic and apologetic to the customers whenever they come to make complaints. This will be possible especially by saying sorry verbally or taking action like writing an apology letter. They should avoid being rude and arrogant when serving any customer (Baxter, 2012). For instance if its the product are faulty, then they should ask them whether they can allow them to take the products back for further testing and approval. Also every organization should give the customer servers the power and authority to give the customer some price reduction (according to the value of the products) when need be. For instance, if the products are not delivered in time, they were worth a lot of money and apparently, they would have made a lot of profits for the customer if sold. I would be fair for the organization to make some reduction in the cost of the products for the customer simply to help the recover their loss. Every organization should make sure that their policies concerning product replacement do not involve very long and complicated steps instead it should be an easy, short and simple process for better (Boshoff et al, 2004). This can be possible if the business appoints a replacement team members who will be in charge of making product replacement only. However, the organization should ensure that the product replacement team is in a position and ready to make the replacement for any product that may have complaints from the customers. By doing this they will be able to avoid the replacement of products by each and every employee who wishes to do so. Therefore, this will be able to encourage accountability and professionalism in the organization which leads to better customer service. The managers should also involve themselves in making the process easy by talking to the customers. A customer who needs a replacement for any products or has any complaints which needs the managers attention should be accorded the attention they need. For instance, the customer who deals with the states largest supplier of mining equipment and buys the widgets from Innovative Widgets organization. He seems to have a serious complaint which certainly requires the managers attention. The conversation may go like: Customer: Hello, am fine but I have a serious complaint with your business which I have been presenting for a while now. It has become a bother to me and my customer. Manager: I know about the complaint and am so sorry that it has happened to you. Customer: If you know about it, then you should also know that am considering seeking legal advice and also looking for a new supplier. Manager: You dont have to do that because I am assuring you that the problem will be solved in the next three days. I will personally take care of your situation, I promise. Conclusion In conclusion, I can say that effective and efficient customer treatment is required in every organization in order for it to increase its success chances. Therefore, it is important that every organization to ensure that its customers are treated in the best way possible by the employees. Return To Bitter Creek Return to Bitter Creek takes place in Bitter Creek, North Carolina, during current times. There are many acres of beautiful land. There are a lot of trees and plants. The weather is seasonal, although mild during the winter. Most of the action occurs at a farm, and in a house. Although the story involves family conflicts, and could take place anywhere, the setting was relevant to this plot because a lot of what happened involved nature, horses, and rural jobs. Lacey Bittner is the main character. She is a teen-aged girl who lived with her mother, Campbell, and her mother's boyfriend, David. Lacey is upfront, honest, hard working, efficient, and kind. When someone is rude she tells them how she feels. For example, she tells her mother when she thinks her mother is being inconsiderate. Whenever she has a job to do, like making a cabin in the trees, or clearing the pasture for the horse, she gets to it right away, and continues until it's done, even late at night. She tries to fit all her activities in, including school, sports, and taking care of her horse; she is responsible. Even though her mother doesn't get along with the rest of the family, Lacey is still pleasant to them. The main conflict is man vs. man. This is a story about a family who just can't get along with each other. There are personality conflicts between mothers and daughters, and cousins and cousins. There is squabbling over such things as who can spend time with whom, and who will drive to school. Campbell, Lacey's mother, lived in Bitter Creek her whole life, but she didn't get along with her family, especially her mother. She moved away to Clio, Colorado with Lacey, being single. She met a man name David. They were very close and lived together, but weren't married. They moved back to Bitter Creek, North Carolina because David found a blacksmith job there. When they arrived in Bitter Creek, they bought a little house. Lacey went to school with her cousin Tam. Campbell didn't like the idea of Grandmother bringing Lacey to school, so she tried to keep her on the bus. Although Lacey's mother is protective, Lacey manages to make new friends and spend time with her grandmother. During the summer Lacey was bored because Campbell and David were always working. Tam and Lacey became good friends, although they have some fights. Lacey learns a lot about wildflowers from a book David gave her and from her grandmother. One day Lacey comes home to find out that David bought seven acres of land. The family decided to clear the pasture, build a fence, and get a horse. The extended family always had Sunday dinners, frequently at David and Campbell's house, but Campbell, Grandmother, and Tam rarely came. Every one else has a great time and loved to ride the horse. Lacey named the horse Polly. Lacey joins the flag corps team when school started again. David and Lacey build a cabin in the trees. Lacey was always busy with many activities aside from the cabin, which she didn't get to work on as much as she would have liked. One day while David was working on the cabin he had an accident and died. This is the climax of the story. After this the family comes together (sort of) and learns to accept each other. Uncle Kenny and Lacey finish the cabin. Campbell mopes around because David died. One night Campbell and Lacey had to move to the barn because there was no money to pay for the house; the barn had been paid for for several months by David. Lacey used to go to folk dances with Campbell and David a lot, but she never had the courage to dance in front of anyone. Finally she did with her family. Lacey's mother became friendly with Grandmother again. Campbell finished one of David's blacksmithing jobs and got $2000. Polly had a baby horse and Lacey named it Trillium (a wildflower). Grandmother made a beautiful quilt and gave it to Campbell and Lacey. Everyone tried to get along with each other. I absolutely loved this book. I would recommend this book to

Are rules necessary essays My opinion on this issue is that I do think that rules are necessary; there are a lot of reasons why we need rules in our society. Legal and non-legal rules are both needed in our community. Most legal rules are enforced to keep the individuals of this society to feel safe, to make them know that walking down the street is not dangerous; the effect is it makes people be able to live their life without worrying if they are going to be in danger. There are rules everywhere in this community, the roads, home, religion, family, school and also social clubs, and in this essay I shall demonstrate why exactly rules are necessary. An example of a legal rule and its punishment in this society is murder, killing someone is the most disgusting act anyone can imagine. The punishments for murder is 25 years to life in jail and also in some other countries if committing death earns death, and they shall get hanged. Sometimes people commit murder on accounts of manslaughter and some accounts are in as self defence, a popular definition would say that it is the deliberate killing of a person, but most people don't regard self defence as murder. It is also a measure for governments to order people to kill others (in times of war for example), and people are more inclined to kill to order if the murder label is removed. Well back on track again, the punishments for murder, helps individuals in this society feel safe and make criminals more aware of what they are facing when they commit a murder. But the punishment doesnt necessarily stop criminals from not killing. We cant have murderers running lose around the streets , so locking them away is increasing the safety in the society. Having criminals in jail creates discipline and teach the criminals why they are in jail in the first place, they should all be thought a lesson.
